When will the Mexican’s realize Americans are helping them?

xenypoo asked:

THIS PROVES IT!

A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits
Mexico.

Two million Mexicans have died and over a million are injured. The
country is totally ruined and the government doesn’t know where to
start with asking for help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in
shock.

Canada is sending troopers to help the Mexican army control the
riots.

Saudi Arabia is sending oil.

Other Latin American countries are sending supplies.

The European community (except France) is sending food and money.

The United States, not to be outdone, is sending two million Mexicans
to replace the dead ones.

God bless America!!!

How come Obama & Janet Napolitano are not saying anything about Americans ambushed by Mexican gunmen on boats?

I’m gonna start another riot asked:

Following the murder of a U.S. citizen boating on Falcon Lake, Texas law enforcement agencies are advising visitors to stay away from the Mexican side of the popular lake while they are intensifying their investigation of a crime that angered the nation.

“The Zapata County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department are telling boaters on Falcon Lake to stay on the United States side of the lake and not venture into Mexican waters,” said a statement released yesterday by the Texas DPS.Fishermen are still advised to stay as far away as possible from any of the Argos-type fishing boats typically used as fishing vessels by Mexican fishermen. These boats have a large prow, a small outboard motor without a cowling and no identification numbers on the hull,” officials stated.
Mexican pirates trolling the waters of the U.S.-Mexico border lake shot and killed a tourist while his wife escaped a hail of bullets and raced her Jet Ski back to American soil. The incident has renewed calls for federal action by border security advocates
Search and rescue teams patrolled the U.S. side of Falcon Lake this weekend searching for the body of Colorado tourist David Michael Hartley, 30, whose wife, Tiffany Hartley, told police he was shot in the back of the head Thursday after being ambushed by gunmen on boats.

The Texas Department of Public Safety announced during a press conference that Hartley was believed to have been killed but his body had not been found. The gunmen are suspected Mexican pirates who prowl Falcon Lake, a favorite spot for water-skiing and bass fishing. There have been five previously reported pirate attacks on that lake this year.

The shooting has led Texas officials to warn American boaters to use caution on the 60-mile lake, in addition to issuing its initial warning following three pirate attacks.

Although many Americans are outraged over this latest border incident, President Barack Obama and his Administration did not comment on the vicious attack on American citizens as well as the unbridled assault on Americans in general. During a press conference held by Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, there was not one word about this unprovoked attack on U.S. citizens.http://www.examiner.com/public-safety-in-national/investigation-of-mexican-pirates-killing-of-american-tourist-intensifies

Why do mexicans in America wave mexican flags?

Frank asked:

What is your opinion illegals in Illinois meet with Mexican Congressmen demand social justice?

Maricopa County asked:

El Financiero 4-14-10

Immigrants in Illinois meet with Mexican Congressmen

Chicago, Illinois 4-13-10 – A group of immigrants in Illinois met with Mexican Congressmen to ask for more political rights of Mexicans who live abroad.

The committee composed of Mexican community members of the Coalition of Mexican Migrants for Political Rights, had the objective to meet with legislators charged with the responsibility for Mexican Migrant rights. One of the projects proposed by Representative Noemi Reynoso is to reform Mexican elections law in order to give more rights to Mexicans living abroad. The second proposition set forth by Representatives Francisco Rojas Gutierrez and Emilio Chuayaffet of the PAN Party is to create a 6th Congressional District composed of Mexicans living abroad in order to represent the expatriate community in the Mexican Congress.

The immigrants are seeking major participation in the decision making process in both houses of the Mexican legislature.

They also proposed immigration reform to protect human rights of migrants in transition from Mexico and their return (to the USA) in a sincere plea to the Government of the United States.

Campaign for social justice launched in the United States

Chicago, 4-12-10 – El Fuente Unidos de Inmigrantes, a community organization composed mainly of Mexicans in Illinois, agreed to launch a campaign for social justice from April 12 to October 12 of this year.

The campaign is to benefit more than 40 million Mexicans and other Latinos who live in the United States. They will be briefed and educated about the truth of their circumstances and origins and forming coalitions dedicated to education, immigration, health and labor rights.

“The campaign will conclude with a proclamation titled “Paro Nacional Latino;” (Latino National Roll of the Dice, which loosely translates to ‘National Latino Gamble’) demanding no more immigration arrests, and deportation,” said Carlos Arango, President of El Fuente Unidos de Inmigrantes.

During a discussion of immigration reform, the group rejected the legislative proposals of Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill), Barack Obama, Democrat Charles Schumer and Republican Lindsey Graham.

Arango explained that the immigration reform bill sponsored by the congressmen and President Obama “criminalizes undocumented workers under the pretext of national security.” They also will not legitimize the figure of 12 million undocumented Mexicans in the United States, according to Arango. “The true number of this community is more than 40 million people who are subject to the same discrimination and marginalization of our civil, human and economic rights,” explained Arango. The consensus of the meeting agreed that President Obama bears the responsibility for separation of families, deportations, persecutions of immigrants and deaths on the border.

“We clearly state that Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano has an anti-immigrant history as Governor of Arizona and that she has worsened the circumstances of the undocumented worker,” stated Arango.

The community leaders regret that after the marches of 2006, they gave the majority vote to the Democrats, which put President Obama in office, and have received nothing but promises in return.

“We are well aware that the conditions don’t exist in Congress to approve a humane and just immigration reform bill and that Republicans just want to fracture the Immigration Reform bill and Obama’s Health Care bill at the expense of immigrants. We, and our families, are not money that can be spent,” said Arango.

The Union also agreed to launch a national movement in Arizona to help immigrants and to help in the campaign against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and that he (The Sheriff) is the reason for the rise in the deaths of migrants in the Arizona desert who are just looking for a safe place to reside.

Why are people that hate Mexico and their people wanting to be like them on illegal immigration?

Chad McMillen asked:

If you hate them, why would you want to be like them?

What do you think Tancredo: Mexican drug runners and gang members moving to the U.S?

Untied States Of Latina asked:

Presidential candidate Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo, blasted comments this week by Mexican president Felipe Calderon (pictured).

Calderon said at his State of the Union speech Sunday that he would continue to protest “unilateral actions” of the U.S. Congress that “exacerbate the persecution” of Mexican illegal immigrants in the United States. He also said that Mexico does not end at the border because “where there is a Mexican. There is Mexico.”

In a statement, Tancredo quipped: “Indeed part of Mexico is moving into the United States, but unfortunately that includes drug runners, gang violence and the Spanish language supplanting English.”

The lawmaker, famous for his tough stance against illegal immigration, added: “I’m sure the people of Mexico would be extremely grateful if Calderon showed as much concern over the well being of Mexicans unlucky enough to still live there as he does for the people who have successfully fled his country.”http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/immigration/entries/2007/09/05/tancredo_mexican_drug_runners.html

Do you think that the illegal immigrants play a large role in the distribution of meth from Mexico?

KJ asked:

I watched a show on National Geo. last night, that said that when the Govt. restricted the sale of cold remedies to the public, the meth trade never slowed down due to the import of the drug from “mega labs” in Mexico that can mass produce a more pure product at a cheaper cost. They said that they use the established drug cartel routes to import it into the country. Thus, my question!

Does United States belong to US citizens or to Native Americans and Mexicans?

asked:

My friend who just came here from Mexico says that this land belongs to his people and that we should all leave and move back to Europe. I am very sad by this and was wondering what people though on the subject. He said we are the illegal aliens and should help pay for their education and health care as well as other benefits , due to the suffering we put them through. So tell me what you think.
He has also mentioned that Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico should be given back to Mexico with reparations. He thinks that United States is like the most evil country, but he is trying to get citizenship..I just don’t understand. When I ask him, he says since I am white I won’t get him.

What do you think about this here League of the United Latin American Citizens border may be illegitimate?

❶•☆•xXx•☆— BOMB ♥ SHELL☆•xXx•☆•❶ asked:

CASEY WIAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The United States/Mexico border was established in 1848 by the Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo which ended the Mexican/American war and the Gadsden Purchase in 1854.

A century and a half later the California chapter of the League of the United Latin American Citizens is questioning the very legitimacy of the order, as part of their effort to secure amnesty for illegal aliens following President Obama’s recent trip to Mexico.

BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: My country has been greatly enriched by migration from Mexico. Mexican-Americans form a critical and enduring link between our nations. And I am committed to fixing our broken immigration system.

WIAN: LULAC claims that 2008 Supreme Court decision in a Texas death penalty case involving a Mexican citizen could render the 1848 border treaty invalid because Congress failed to make the treaty binding on individual states.

So its California director says, “The government of Mexico should exercise its rights to third-party arbitration and reopen all questions of immigration including the rights of Mexican citizens in the United States and the legitimacy of the border itself.”

The group says Mexicans in the United States were treated unfairly after Guadeloupe Hidalgo and should now be given legal status.

JAN TUCKER, LULAC, CALIFORNIA CHAPTER: Mexico didn’t get what it bargained for in giving up its land, then why should it be bound by that border? And even if we’re not going to revisit the issue of the border per se, shouldn’t Mexico have a right to a third party examination?

WIAN: California LULAC suggests Canada, Brazil, Great Britain or France could help renegotiate the border treaty.

LULAC’s national office did not respond to requests for comment on its California chapter statement which also criticized the Obama administration’s appointment of Allen Bornstein as border czar. He’s a former San Diego U.S. attorney credited with cracking down on illegal immigration during the 1990s.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

WIAN: We spoke with Santa Clara University law professor David Sloss who’s written extensively on the Medellin versus Texas Supreme Court decision. He called LULAC’s claim that the border is illegitimate, quote, “pretty absurd.”

However, Sloss says there is the small possibility that a small number of descendants of Mexicans living in the southwest in 1848 could have a claim to U.S. citizenship, Lou.

DOBBS: All right. And one would hope that they are already citizens.

We appreciate it. Thank you, Casey. Another bizarre part of what is often a very messy issue, illegal immigration, border security. You would think it should be so straightforward, wouldn’t you?

Mexican president decries growing harassment of migrants in U.S And Mexico has such humane immigration laws ?

Beach Girl asked:

MEXICO CITY – President Felipe Calderon decried Wednesday what he called “the growing harassment” of Mexicans in the United States and said his government will work to counter it by funding a media campaign to show migrant success stories.Mexican officials have expressed concern over a recent wave of immigration raids and a U.S. political climate perceived as anti-migrant. Calderon said U.S. presidential candidates were using migrants as “symbolic hostages” on the immigration issue.”I am especially worried about the growing harassment and frank persecution of Mexicans in the United States in recent days,” Calderon said at a meeting of the Mexican government’s migrant assistance agency. He called on leading U.S. presidential candidates to “stop holding Mexicans in their country as symbolic hostages in their speeches and (campaign) strategies.” He was apparently referring to the hard line some candidates have taken on the immigration issue, and other candidates’ unwillingness to take a clear stance in the debate. To bolster the image of migrants in the U.S., the Mexican government will launch “direct media campaigns aimed at showing migrant success stories and raise awareness of the many contributions” migrants make to U.S. society, he said.

Calderon noted 6 million of the 11 million Mexican migrants in the United States are undocumented, and endorsed the creation of what he called the League Against Discrimination Against Mexicans in the United States.

Pablo Alonso Flores, a member of advisory council of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, described the new anti-discrimination league as a group “run by Mexican-Americans, aimed mainly at defending our rights peacefully and respectfully, while not allowing media attacks on the integrity, roots and customs of Mexicans.”

Calderon also endorsed a project to expand shelters for deported migrants in Mexican border cities.

Several recent high-profile immigration enforcement raids, and political setbacks like Wednesday’s decision by New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer to abandon a plan to issue driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, have put immigrant activists in a grim mood.

Also Wednesday, Mexico City officials announced a program to offer city residents living in the United States low fees for sending money home.

As part of the program, the estimated 600,000 Mexico City migrants will also receive free life insurance policies. If they die, the policy will enable their relatives in Mexico to repatriate their remains free of charge.

Gay Mexican granted asylum after long battle
Los Angeles Times

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

A U.S. immigration judge granted a Mexican immigrant asylum, citing his sexual orientation and the severe persecution of gays in Mexico, the man’s lawyer said Tuesday.

Jorge Soto Vega, 38, said he had suffered harassment and violence from family members and authorities in Mexico because he is gay.

According to court documents, while living in Guadalajara, Soto Vega was beaten by police and then robbed, called anti-gay slurs, and told that he would be killed if he was ever seen again.

In 1988, Soto Vega paid a smuggler to sneak him into the United States, and he settled in the Hollywood and Silver Lake areas of Los Angeles. In 2001, Soto Vega returned from a brief visit to Mexico after his mother’s death, during which he said he was afraid to go outside. He filed an application for asylum the next year.
